09/11

This Saturday, I spent the morning in different galleries, daily doing researches about the theme of next week. With two off my classmates, we picked plural shows where we could see a connection between symbols and movements. During the whole day and also yesterday evening, I thought a lot about what symbols meant to me and on what I wanted to focus next week. Questioning myself, I felt what I'm most interested in right now is the symbol of the women , her femininity today, dealing with herself and her appearance. Based on these thoughts, I'll started working on my manifesto.

Manifesto about Women eyes - Womanize-Women size

Chapter 1: I SAW

I saw  Jeanne d'Arc burning in her METAL ARMURE occurred of being a witch, Vivienne Westwood not wearing any underwear while going to collect her OBE from the Queen, Guerrilla girls marching in the streets covering their faces with HAIRY MASKS,

Chapter 2: I SEE

I see a women in irak wearing a black HIJAB being stoned to death, Kim Kardashian wanting her big butt to be exaggerated by Thierry Muggler in WET TRANSPARENT DRESS for the met gala, Lady Gaga covering herself with RAW BEEF for the MTV Video Music awards.

Chapter 3: I WILL SEE

I will see a women capable of teleportation, a overweight women that wearing suit shrinking her body into being anorexic, a button , every minute being different, women being born with all the colors of the rainbow on skin dematerialize the human body.

Guerrilla Girls is an anonymous group of feminist, female artists devoted to fighting sexism and racism within the art world. The group formed in New York City in 1985 with the mission of bringing gender and racial inequality into focus within the greater arts community. The group employs culture jamming in the form of posters, books, billboards, and public appearances to expose discrimination and corruption. To remain anonymous, members don gorilla masks and use pseudonyms that refer to deceased female artists. According to GG1, identities are concealed because issues matter more than individual identities, "Mainly, we wanted the focus to be on the issues, not on our personalities or our own work."

Text

An interesting fact is that a gorilla in your dream symbolizes your fight, as well as the victory over difficulties in your waking life. But a dream of gorillas could predict trouble with false friends and business partners and it is a sign of disappointment and hostility.

Louise Bourgeois

Louise Bourgeois multiple breast dress has always been one of my favorite art pieces, the strength and power that this heavy looking sculptures beholds is incredible. There is at the same time a self infliction in wearing it because of its weight, that could symbolize the weight of women defending their body in society. But then what overcomes this physical pain is the power of its images giving a provocative new shape to the body.
